Gliding Initial Course

Cdts Muslu, Pitrik and Chapman went to RAF Kenley to try their hands at non-powered flight!They took to the skies in the Grob Viking Mk1, which is launched to 1000ft via a cable.
Take off is extreme, the winch launches the aviators 0-60mph in less than 3seconds and has the same rate of climb as the RAF's Eurofighter Typhoon Jets!
Each of their flights lasted around 7mins, but they got 3 flights. They all enjoyed their day and are looking forward to going again.
Nijmegen Training Weekend

Cdt Hing went to Folkstone, Kent where she is training to March across Nijmegen in Holland 100miles over 4days later this year.Over this training weekend Cdt Hing Marched for 34miles over 2days, an outstanding acheivement! Well Done Cdt Hing and keep up the great work.
Air Experience Flying

Cdts Hing, Geregersian and Muslu went to Royal Air Force Benson to try their hand at flying the initial RAF Trainer, the Grob Tutor G115E. They all got to put their knowledge learnt in the classroom into practice when their instructors told them 'they have control'. All the Cadets came home on a high at the end of a great day out, and the weather was perfect for the Sqn's Aviators.RAF Museum visit

Three Cadets joined Sgt Westbrook in 578 Sqn's Annual Visit to the Royal Air Force Museum in Hendon. The purpose of the visit is to enhance on their learning of the History of Flight and the History of the RAF which they study in class. This is a great training aid as they are able to see the aircraft close up. All the Cadets had a great time and all came away with a Royal Air Force bear as a memento of their visit.
Obstacle Course

5 cadets went to Crowborough Training Camp for a day of going over the military Obstacle Course. All the cadets who took part had a great time and have even said they'd like to do it again! They were thoroughly exhausted on the way home as the CO had a peaceful trip home in the minibus.
